Teresa Whitaker: Storyteller and Musician
Teresa will be conducting a 6 week residency in the second grade beginning in late January and running through March. She is a storyteller and a musician. In her own words "Storytelling is the basis of literacy and builds community. We are all storytellers." Rhythm and a mercurial voice are trademarks of her lively, and joyous workshops. She tells original stories and traditional myths, folktales, weaving in participatory music with songs, guitar, and percussion instruments.

Frank Schwartz accompanies her for some of the workshops. He is a musician and songwriter. He sings and plays guitar, bass, old time banjo, and the mandolin. Teresa will spend a block of time in each second grade classroom for six sessions. We look forward to her workshops!
